“My journey to law school began in the Falkland Islands. While studying at the University of Maine, I conducted research at the school’s Climate Change Institute that led me to this archipelago of islands in the Subantarctic. My research focused on how the presence of a particular species of grass in the Falklands changed over time. Studying ecosystems of Earth’s past for a number of years was exciting, but also unfulfilling. As I studied ancient soils, policy and environmental laws changed every day. I enrolled in law school because I no longer wanted to sit on the sidelines. If I stayed in the past, then I couldn’t change the future! I am thrilled to be part of the Climate Task Force Student Advisory Panel to help bring awareness to the Rutgers Climate Action Plan and share why I care about climate change!”
